Dr. Ralph Bartmuß was born in 1966 in Halle/Saale. He studied law as well as medieval and modern history in Halle/Saale and in Berlin. He passed his first state law examination in 1995 in Saxony-Anhalt and the second in 1997 in Saxony.
After completing his activities as a research assistant with Prof. Dr. Roland Donath, M.C.J. (Austin) at the University of Halle and as a lawyer in a nationwide law firm, he started working as a lawyer in the Tax Department of Arthur Andersen in Dresden. In 2002 he moved to Ernst & Young, where he started out by providing consulting services on structural issues. Subsequently, until 2010, he was responsible there for the business area of taxation of public sector entities and non-profit corporations in Saxony and Thuringia as well as for the business area of taxation of hospitals nationally.
With a research paper on insurance contract law, Dr. Ralph Bartmuß earned his PhD in 2000 under Prof. Dr. Hans-Peter Schwintowski at the Faculty of Law of the Humboldt University in Berlin.
He was appointed tax advisor in 2004. He has been a partner in eureos gmbh steuerberatungsgesellschaft rechtsanwaltsgesellschaft since July 2010.
Main focus of consultancy work
Providing legal and tax consulting services for public sector companies as well as non-profit organizations (NPOs), in particular to companies in the health industry, utilities, waste disposal and transport companies, universities, colleges, schools and municipalities, regarding all routine tax issues, field audits and restructuring
Since 2009 Dr. Bartmuß has been a visiting lecturer at the Federal Academy of Finance on the subject of public sector taxation. He also accepted a teaching assignment starting in 2014 in the field of tax law for a course of studies leading to an MBA in Health Care Management at the University of Bayreuth.

On a personal level
Dr. Ralph Bartmuß has four children. His favorite recreational activities include windsurfing, Alpine skiing, running and cycling as well as attending a vast variety of concerts.
